Xavier Daval Awarded the National Order of Merit

On October 1, 2025, Xavier Daval, founder and President of kiloWattsol, was elevated to the rank of Knight of the National Order of Merit. The honor was presented to him by Major General Jean-Claude Pelletier, his former Commanding Officer at the 5ᵉ Regiment of Cuirassiers, who is himself a Commander of the Order.

A pioneer in solar energy in France, Xavier Daval founded kiloWattsol in 2006, a specialized photovoltaic expert firm with international reach. From the early stages of his career, he has been actively involved in structuring the solar sector, participating in both national and international industry bodies. As Vice-President of the Renewable Energies Union (Syndicat des Énergies Renouvelables), he led the Photovoltaic Commission of the SER for nine years and represented France on the Global Solar Council, the global solar organization.

The ceremony took place in Lyon at the kiloWattsol offices, surrounded by his colleagues, family, and friends. This distinction recognizes both his dedicated professional career in service of the energy transition and his ongoing commitment to the recognition and development of solar energy, in France and internationally.
